World gen issues (and Fun) [Spoiler]
« on: August 07, 2011, 03:33:56 pm »

Recently I have delved into the fine art of advanced world generation. Obviously this creates a number of problems, but the most blatant one appears when you start getting into the lower levels (I'm using dfreveal extensivly for testing my world gen.) Frankly, sections (rectangles or squares, connected usually) of earth are semi molten where other sections are rock, and often there is just a giant pit straight to HFS.

I was really hoping world 42 would be the perfect world, too.

Currently testing to see if it effects worlds I saved and loaded... Will edit with further testing.

<<Edits: confirmed on 4/5 reloaded worlds, 0/1 fresh worlds.>>
<<World 43 : 0/1 fresh, 0/1 reloaded>>

Perhaps this is just an issue with world gen in general?

He likes gold, native gold, trees that are made of gold, and tungsten. He likes cats for their haunting meows. He needs dwarf fortress to get through the working day. When possible, prefers to consume Potatoes, cheese, cow milk. Absolutely detests elves. And spiders.
