Brewing issue

This is behaviour I've observed in a few fortresses:

5 Plump helmets in stockpile
Many free barrels.

Cannot brew.  Error:
"Needs distillable item."

However, as soon as I get another distillable item, I have no problem brewing.

That is:
5 Plump helmets = no brew

5 Plump helmets
1 longland grass = brew with the 5 plump helmets.

Looks to me like a counter is miscounting somewhere, or what should be >=5 is coded as  >5 instead.

Hrmm.  I may have misobserved the issue.

Just now I had this situation:

5 plump helmets = no brewing

5 plump helmets + 1 longland grass = brewing longland beer and 5 plump helmuts.

Reason the helmets aren't being used: they're sitting in the brewery waiting for someone to carry them to the food storage so that they can be used in the brewery/eaten.

Will keep updated.

Yeah, it's general a haul-tag.  There aren't any counts on the plants.
