I'm currently unemployed, but awaiting to go to back to college, where I'd make enough money from student loans to support myself, but I'm looking into moving in with my girlfriend - so I am looking for a job.

I have a job interview this afternoon, for a job in a pub/bar. I recently obtained my SPL (Scottish Personal License for on and off-sales (alcohol)), but I fear I may get roped into being a waiter. I enjoy working behind a bar and have done for the past year - should I hold out till I find a job that allows me to do what I like (and coincidentally, bar work goes well with college hours, learning all day - working all night )?

Do your own thing, y'know?  You know your circumstances a lot better than we do.  If you feel like you can get a job you want, go for it.  Whether or not you skip one opportunity in favor of another one that may come along is totally up to you.  I've known others that have gone from waiter to bar tender, though, so keep that in mind, too.

Apply everywhere you COULD work, do interviews for all of them and accept the one closest to what you want.
