Animals trying to batter doors down
« on: August 01, 2011, 06:53:43 pm »

I have, on this save, a fortress, with groundhogs quite happily running repeatedly at doors, seemingly in an attempt to knock them down. they aren't noticing dwarves, otherwise they'd run past the doors, and the dwarves would shit themselves and leg it. they simply back up, run towards the door, stand and lie down rapidly, then repeat.

wut?

They're probably trying to path into your fortress. I could be wrong.

I know animals will frequently stand at pet-inaccessable doors trying to get in. I haven't heard of this, though. Might be similar.

Do you have any variable mechanisms involved with pathing? (like bridges) - That might be a possible cause.
