I've been playing Adventure mode a lot lately and was wondering, is there any way to get more than 19 companions? Is there something I can change to increase the limit?

you could use Dfusion and recruit over the fame cap or you could just increase the fame levels.

But I still cannot get more than 19 with fame. I used Dfusion and that works, but sometimes my companions just stop following me if I recruit them with that.

Well there a case where if you travel once with a force perma companion they de companion like normal command. the trick here is to redo the companion grab,
now usually I have it so the companions all apart of adventurer's civ and use a perma enlist civ command to cut down on constant reenlisting.
I have the command for use in the first 2 pages in Dfusion.
