Freeze on Embark

After a couple month break, I decided to boot up DF again. I started a new world, finished the preparations and hit embark and........nothing. I can't change anything, and the whole window is basically frozen. I quit and tried again and got the same thing. Is there anything I can do?

Which version are you running?  Do you have any mods going on?

Have you tried embarking in a different location?  Sometimes you'll get bugged features on an embark that'll make it crash as soon as you load it.  Also, are you running it on a Widows machine, or something else?

Windows 7, It's true i did try the same spot each time, I'll try another spot and report

Same thing as before. Maybe it doesn't like that world. I'll gen a new one and try that.

Hopefully that clears it up.  If not, have you messed with the init file at all?  Otherwise, I'd try downloading the program again.  It's always possible something happened when you downloaded it last time.  Be sure you're getting the SDL version from here.
