Egad, what a hideous creature. But big! Good god, that thing is huge.

Time to get to work, then.

Now, a siphon requires a fairly stable platform to be deployed on. A dragon in flight, probably not so stable. So, build a platform on the dragon. There's plenty of ridges to anchor it to, shouldn't be hard. Just knock up a quick thing from some scrap wood and leather strips.

Build a (proof-of-concept) platform on the dragon.

William

Tired of the cold and honestly being quite bored, William leaves his place of spying. But being reckless and tired, he quite accidentally, kicks a stone which then hits a tree, thereby making a loud obvious noise. The knights looking for the source of the noise, see a peasant out in the mud. Some of them go for their swords, two start running for William. Your horse is beyond a thicket of trees.

Vladimir Boleslaw

The guard looks utterly surprised that Vladimir knew anything. "Thank you! We'll make sure that this *huff* heathen is dealt with!"
The guard runs off, probably to report.

It felt good to help punish the heretic, but you still wanted to do more...What could a glassblower do anyway? You weren't meant for this kind of work, running around. But then you would never have answers to so many questions. Why were they there? What were they discussing? Why burn the Cathedral? What did the Greek have to do with this?

Well Vladimir can help, can he not? Still, it would be so much easier to just let this go.

Albrecht McFinod

He shakes his head at you, several times. He points you towards you what appears to be an inn, and returns to work.

Markus Ferroniad

You request to leave. The bishop allows you, and gives a smile.

Looking around once again, you find a variety of jobs...But they are either too low-paying or based on skills you currently don't have. Expanding your search, you find that there are several jobs available to a scholar in Rome, Milan, and Venice. Course, you then have a brilliant idea; getting a permanent patron. That would be difficult without producing something astounding or useful though.

Syrius Serpentus

As you set the first scaffold, the dragon burns it down. And tries to eat an assistant. Then tries burning a nearby villa. Then pees on your workshop. Your not getting paid enough for this...

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

Vladimir does not have much faith in the investigative prowess of the City Guard- if these men are to be brought to justice, it will take careful thought to deduce the true purpose of the Greek's arson. As Vladimir ponders the situation, he decides he has two main leads to work off. Firstly, the Cathedral itself- discovering something unusual in its construction or patronage could yield clues to the Greek's motive. Secondly, and perhaps more immediately, the Greek himself- he seemed to be a clean, prosperous sort of fellow, a foreigner with some wealth. A merchant, or diplomat- not the sort of man who moves through society unnoticed, especially not in Kiev. Further, with Vladimir's description to operate on the Greek will not be able to move freely, and may in fact be hiding somewhere within the city.

Vladimir starts by discreetly seeking information on the Greek among the wealthier circles of Kiev- the priests, the merchants, the politicians. Mention the little man, as that odd pairing may spark memories.

Albrecht sighs and heads to the Inn. Barkeeps usually know a smattering of foreign tounge, he muses, to deal with out of towners. Perhaps he will be so fortunate here.

Syrius curses. He doesn't care about villas or assistants- but it that thing tries to burn down his workshop, the substances within will- OH GOD, IT IS PEEING ON THE WORKSHOP.

WHO KNOWS WHAT SORT OF ACIDS THAT STUFF CONTAINS.

The entire batch will be ruined! That does it, that dragon is getting it.

Syrius walks round to face the dragon and shouts at it. His assistants recognise the symptoms, and wisely retreat as far away as possible. The dragon is scary, but Syrius angry is terrifying.

Scold the dragon.

((What's that? Being careful? Sorry, no. I rather prefer the attitude of 'suicidal'. It gets stuff done.))
