diplomat bug (latest version)

a few searches didn't show anything on this so here's a new bug i think. I'm using a save from a previous version with the latest and a human diplomat turns up as normal and instantly leaves unhappy. Any ideas?

You don't have anyone he can talk to.  Same thing happened to me.  I think your mayor has to be reelected.  It happens every... year maybe?

But i have a mayor, he's also the broker and has no jobs other than mayoring and trading. He gets reelected every year too.

Could it be because the diplomat can't find a path to the trader/mayor/baron ? I had the same thing happen when a diplomat appeared during a siege where all entrances to my fortress were closed. He departed immediately.

my fortress is all open though. i just let some traders in when he arrived so my bridge was down. he may have spawned in an area blocked by trees though as the forest has grown quite thick now.

In new ver. you can just chop his head off for his bad thoughts. Just some obsidian shord sword weapon traps, and voila!
