so i have ben looking around for some air units and see that there are two main picks the cave swallow or the giant eagle but which one is stronger ? this is to hold me over untill i can find a breeding pair of rocs

From a cursory examination of the raws they look very, very similar. Giant eagles can be trained into war animals or hunting animals, giant cave swallows can only be trained into hunting animals (I'm not completely sure if being a war animal adds any bonus anymore, though). Giant eagles are also worth twice as much.

Other then that, they are pretty much the same thing.

i know that hunting animals dong get any bonuses other than being able to sneak (poorly i think) war animals not so sure
