Was my queen a cagefighter before she came to my fortress?
« on: July 21, 2011, 03:13:38 pm »

The queen just arrived to my current fortress and its going all well and good, except while checking out some health logs i noticed she had vision impaired. Fearing it was an fb syndrome or something i checked her wounds and saw this

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Every single part of her body excluding her cheeks and throat which are brown, are yellow, what the hell did she get up to before she arrived here?

Anybody else had this happen that could explain?

If adamantine is perfectly rigid, as shown by having 0 strain at fracture in the raw files, then the speed of sound in the metal approaches the speed of light. Adamantine musical instruments would produce ultrasonic vibrations, and cut off the fingers of the musician.

I had a goblin general attacking me that was just like that.  I think its some kind of bug, because it doesn't make sense for there to be that many wounds and absolutely no permanent damage at all.

Nope. Shes got a hand full of novice combat skills thats about it

Well shes only 95 so i think shes still got 40 odd years left in her yet, shes not having problems hauling gold furniture around though so i doubt she has osteoporosis :)

I'm telling you, this is your queen, an old hag who can't even see properly.  Hideous.

considering average lifespan of 250 years (?)

90 should be about equal to 40-50 for humans (assuming a lifespan of 70 years)  about equal, i know the math does not quite add up.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Well there you have it, she was attacked by 7 different monsters in 7 years, still doesnt explain why theres no scarring or any signs of trauma aside from the yellowness and impaired vision

No joke one of her entourage was a novice furnace operator with no combat skills (although the other 3 were legendary)

EDIT for quoting mishap

well, seeing how the eye was the only thing noted to be smashed, i'd assume it has something to do with how worldgen combat is calculated.  rather than run the "full combat" that we get in gameplay, worldgen simplifies it.  "escapes unscathed" might handle all minor wounds that do not make scars, as the game is not yet "active" for healing to work as it normally does.  the eye, being a "notable injury" would give the effects of a "real" eye injury from standard play.

this is all speculation on my part, but i figure it to be a safe assumption that worldgen stuff is simplified.
