Human wagons disappearing
« on: May 31, 2007, 01:21:00 am »

After the human caravan leaves, but before they make it off the map, removing the depot causes the humans and their wagons to vanish.

The horses are still there and wander off the map by themselves.  They are no longer paired up as if the wagons were just invisible, they roam individually.

I think this is a known bug.  What happens is that because the depot is removed the game isn't sure what to do so it scuttles the wagons.  Effectively that means you stole all their loot.

Yes, even if the merchants are leaving.

I think anything that interrupts a direct, valid road while the caravan is in town nukes the wagons.

A few days ago, I had a goblin siege show up just after the caravan.  My siege weapons beat the crap out of them and kept 'em from catching the caravan, but as soon as the entire caravan was through the gates I had to lock the doors and *poof* wagons transmute into logs.

A bunch of wood later on a low-wood map, I decided to let the rest of the caravan back out to finish off the goblins for me.  I'll send 30k worth of mugs back with 'em next year to make up for it...
