invalid ID number
« on: May 26, 2007, 05:22:00 pm »

Tried clearing out a dungeon, any time I try to leave the area the game crashes, this is a part of the errorlog:

quote:
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, lizardman corpse
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man left arm
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man head
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man corpse
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, iron arrow
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man corpse
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man right arm
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man lower body
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, lizardman corpse
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man head
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man right arm
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man left arm
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man right foot
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man left foot
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man body part
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, mud man corpse
Load Game: Invalid Item ID Number, lizardman corpse

Ist mine game kaput?

I am using some homemade creatures, including the semi-megabeast that I went into the dungeon to kill (and succeeded). The error is reproducable.

So this means that those items had larger ID numbers than the game thinks they should have, which means the files got out of sync somehow.  Copy save folders over each other and using saves after crashes or exiting the game improperly is the most common way for things to get messed up, but it could be a bug as well.

That's probably the culprit. Thunderstorm shut off my pc for me

all may not be lost.  you could always retire that adventurer (scumb to starvation, or whatever) and continue to use that world.  as long as you dont return to that site, it might be okay.

or, it might crash when offloading after you starve.

I'll play around with it and see what happens. I have the save from right before I went into the cave to kill the beastie. Thanks for the heads up guys.

Heh, I have a ruin where I've killed so much stuff I think I'm over the limit of something... always get a crash and a spam of "Site Map:  Extra Item Occupancy" in the error log if I go there and kill a bunch of undead and leave.
