Volcano Overflow
« on: July 11, 2011, 10:10:36 am »

I have a question about Volcanoes. If you drain some magma from them and then put it back, will the volcano be able to absorb unlimited magma similar to an aquifer absorbing water or would I need to drill a hold in the side of the volcano to prevent it from overflowing?

websim.ai is coming dangerously close to being able to run Gridhood. Maybe I'll live to see the day if I exercise, eat right, and somehow convince the world's governments not to nuke everyone.

DF fluid physics mean that, if you put the magma back below the top level, it will not overflow.

Dunno about absorbing it like an aquifer, though.

Volcanoes do not absorb excess magma - if you try to pour in more magma than they can contain, they will overflow.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
