So many rats...

Where did all these things come from??? There's no rotten food. None of them are pets or even tamed. And there's dozens of them. I manage my miners for a couple minutes and I come back up and BAM! I've never seen so many vermin in one place.

And just like that, they are gone again.

Rats, and several other types of vermin, roam around the map in large groups from time to time. If you examine one of these with 'k', they'll be listed as "Many Rats/Fluffy Wamblers/Large Cockroaches/Etc.". These colonies are easy to miss since they can easily be mistaken for groups of flies if you don't examine them.

Anyway, when a cat or another animal blunders into them, that group explodes into its individual components and presumably covers the intruder in an avalanche of vermin like a scene from Willard.
