@kay12: back to ideas
Maybe have option for "campaign mode" like Republic:Revolution (will call this R:Rev from now on if needed)
- choose number of cities to play through at start of LCS (1 for classic LCS style, 5-6 might be good for the max. limit)
- as each city is liberalized, you choose a team to take with you to the next city (maybe max. 20 liberals?), and put a chosen leader in charge of old "cell". old cells would help to support the current city campaign by providing material support. The individual city missions should be made a bit quicker than liberalizing the whole country is now.
- first city should be the most liberal, and it works up through more conservative cities
- last city should be Washington D.C
Cities to play through are either selected at random from a database (allowing ALL states, major cities to occur)
or you get to choose from a number of cities ("which city will we liberalize next, commander?"). This would allow potentially dozens of cities to occur throughout the game, like how some RTSs let you pick your next battle region (I'm thinking Dune 2 here), but still limited by "tiers" of cities.
Each city would have modified special locations, e.g. there would be influencing Capitol Hill in Washington, state legislatures in the other states.
There could also be special "away missions" for teams which would be run remotely, like going on vacation/dates are now. But the day-to-day emphasis would still be on the current city you are in. "Away missions" would use the database of national cities for the targets, and would target notable land-marks and insitutions at those cities.
Obviously the first step would be to implement the very basics of a campaign mode, then work on making the stages/cities more unique and interesting.
