Seriously we should consider trying to hack multiple cities into LCS. Then there can be the liberal north and the bible-belt modelled.

I've actually considered this and the implications for gameplay. The obvious downside would be that including cities from all states would be too much (especially for non-Americans), so we'd instead have to include examples of the political archetypes for each city. Also, having the same sites for raiding everywhere would be pointless, so implementing this idea will basically mean taking LCS to a whole new level. If you have good ideas to overcome these difficulties, I'm more than willing to hear.

@kay12: back to ideas

Maybe have option for "campaign mode" like Republic:Revolution (will call this R:Rev from now on if needed)

- choose number of cities to play through at start of LCS (1 for classic LCS style, 5-6 might be good for the max. limit)
- as each city is liberalized, you choose a team to take with you to the next city (maybe max. 20 liberals?), and put a chosen leader in charge of old "cell". old cells would help to support the current city campaign by providing material support. The individual city missions should be made a bit quicker than liberalizing the whole country is now.

- first city should be the most liberal, and it works up through more conservative cities
- last city should be Washington D.C

Cities to play through are either selected at random from a database (allowing ALL states, major cities to occur)

or you get to choose from a number of cities ("which city will we liberalize next, commander?"). This would allow potentially dozens of cities to occur throughout the game, like how some RTSs let you pick your next battle region (I'm thinking Dune 2 here), but still limited by "tiers" of cities.

Each city would have modified special locations, e.g. there would be influencing Capitol Hill in Washington, state legislatures in the other states.

There could also be special "away missions" for teams which would be run remotely, like going on vacation/dates are now. But the day-to-day emphasis would still be on the current city you are in. "Away missions" would use the database of national cities for the targets, and would target notable land-marks and insitutions at those cities.

Obviously the first step would be to implement the very basics of a campaign mode, then work on making the stages/cities more unique and interesting.

Another way would be to have the player start in a suburb, and after that suburb is Liberal, the city it's in is. After that, the whole state. After that, the entire country.

The lowest level would feature only a few sites and could double as a tutorial. As the Squad's power grows, their sphere of influence grows as well - new areas are unlocked, but this also means more responsibilities to handle.

On the other hand, I should really lay off too much envisioning cool LCS stuff. I haven't finished the bomb system, the new car chases and the Film Studios, and this is just LCS - I'm currently trying to get familiar with DCSS's code and write several projects of myself as well. It's time to prioritize!
