artifact screw pumps?
« on: July 02, 2011, 03:12:00 pm »

I'm curious. If you make a screw pump with an artifact mechanism or enormous corkscrew, can it be destroyed or decronstructed by a building destroyer? What about other buildings made with an artifact?

I know artifacts themselves cannot be destroyed by building destroyers. When screw pumps get attacked by building destroyers, do they deconstruct or get entirely destroyed?

All buildings deconstruct, so you'll be left with the materials used to build it.

Buildings deconstruct when they're destroyed, but can incur damages.  XXMicrocline StatueXX has happened to me plenty, and they usually get hauled to refuse piles.  A xFloor Hatchx can be replaced with apparently no influence on its function.  The artifact itself will not be destroyed, but if it's not magma safe, or if the building is destroyed, it deconstructs and the artifact is untouched on the ground.

The buildings deconstruct, but the items which make the building up may also be damaged - you might see a xxmechanismxx or something left over.  Artifacts can't be damaged, of course, but I don't know if being built from an artifact will prevent a screw pump from being deconstructed.

I shall have to test this when I get an appropriate artifact.

You would also probably need an artifact pipe section (may be impossible) and an artifact block (impossible).
