artefact armor
« on: June 30, 2011, 03:52:15 pm »

Dwarf was possessed (yes Im angry about him not gaining xp for the artefact) and he makes a gold pair of chain leggings.  So do these things count as metal armor or just clothing?  If they are armor do I put them in use for my military or do I lock them behind a floodgate for one of my adventurers to find later?

Gold is rediculously heavy and the stats for its use in combat are in fact worse then copper.

Lock it away.

[Now, if it was a gold warhammer or mace, i'd have said equip it on your military. The only thing that's better then gold for a warhammer or mace is platinum.]

They should be considered armor.  They sound very snazzy, but they probably won't be very useful.  I would put them on my Captain of the Guard, or someone who won't need much protection.

According to the wiki, they are lighter than greaves and cover the same amount of area, but provide less protection. They are also shaped, so you can only wear one or the other. You can give them to a dwarf as a novelty or if you have nothing better, but gold is pretty weak armor material (worse than copper, but better than bone. Also very heavy).

What about lead? I got lead warhammer once, Mes Icum, umbral depression or something like that.

The Toad hops in mysterious ways.
This pure mountain spring water is indispensable. Literally. I'm out of paper cups.

Platinum (21400) > Gold (19320) > Lead (11340) > Silver (10490)

Barely above silver. But still better.

Lead warhammer artifacts are boss. Weight is very good and artifact bonus only makes it more smashy.

For me, artifact armor deserves to be worn. Use high boots for extra protection and give it to a good shield user. Minmax-purists will prefer masterwork steel greaves of course.

What, he clearly intended this fine piece of elven armor for your prisoners, so they last longer when you beat them to death with blunt training weapons for maximum training effect and dwarfiness.

What do you mean "elven armor"? Aren't elves and dwarves the same size, now?
