Fluid Logic Prototyper

Does anybody know if a fluid logic prototyper for Dwarf Fortress exists? I'll begin work on one if none exists.

As in a third party program that simulates DF fluid dynamics, so you can test out a design without actually building it?  That would be hard, since if the fluid properties are even slightly different than in DF it would be more or less useless.  I just use [SPEED:1] dwarves.

Using [SPEED:1] dwarves is a much simplier idea. :-p I can't believe I didn't think of that.

DF fluid dynamics wouldn't be too hard to model. Timing would be consistant but not accurate so it should be useful unless the trap involved filling a room with a specific amount of lava using time as a measure. It's an almost identical problem to my Reverse Engineering class's final project.

Beside turning invader off, setting up next to a river or ocean, and have a cheaty-face reaction to make infinite stones? DF can prototype DF  :D

It could be useful to go to modding forum for the stone from naught reactions, init have the invader setting, otherwise you just need to gen a world with enough space for all the prototyping.

I hope "cheatyface" catches on as a term.

Actually, you probably want iron bars from naught, because stone cannot be made into pumps, and iron is magma-safe.  Therefore, it will suffice for any mechanisms or pumps you need.

Oops, forget about pump parts, I usually works mostly with a lot mechanisms and walls. Wood can be used for pumps, as long as it's just water, otherwise will have to put in fuel reaction too, to smith the pump parts.

I'm used to clear-cutting for the wood parts and grumbling about lack of mechanisms  :D

I figured anyone actually doing this would dig straight to magma, then DFLiquid some spots of magma under their above-ground forges.  Or not, with [SPEED:1] the hauling time is unimportant.

Mod in adamantine reaction, mod in 20 skill dorfs, mod in speed 1 no eat no drink no sleep no break dwarves, and you can do anything.
