What does your spouse think of Dwarf Fortress?

My wife swings back and forth between thinking DF is cute and being annoyed at me for playing it too much. Fortunately the balance is about 80%/20% in favor of thinking it's cute and funny. Oh, she also thinks that my love of DF and other building games means that I will be one of the ones to help rebuild society after the coming cataclysm. Given the fate of most of the dwarves under my command I sincerely hope not for all our sakes... :P

Don't have a wife but my GF hates the time I spend playing it, for certain.

"That dwarf game is going to rot your brains, dude."

I tell her something like, "BY THE ADAMANTINE PICK OF OGAR RAMPARTBREECHES THE COMPLEX MISERIES OF SQUARES, I COMMAND YOU TO LEAVE ME BE, WOMAN!" when she brings up the topic and she thinks its absolutely hilarious.

She doesn't know I'm serious.  :-\

It was my girlfriend who introduced me to DF, so I can safely say that she likes it.

My girlfriend likes to play Adventure Mode. And dying or starving to death. And again, And again. She have fun and thinks it's amusing when I plays fortress mode and complain about my dwarves stealing socks. WHICH THEY DOES ALL THE TIME!

That and she gets a few ideas here and there from DF for her writing, I'm just hoping it don't involves dwarves raiding other countries for SOCKS.

My GF likes to play Sims2/3, so I thought she would also like Dwarf Fortress (since it's soo much better).

Then she saw the graphics...

:(

I don't think she likes this game :D

My fiancee says she gets sad when she hears the DF music... she never paid attention to how the game works though.

Well... I found a good way of reducing the wife-aggro from too much game playing; ask questions about her TV shows, like why so and so didn't do this, or how they keep reviewing everything that was in the last segment of all her creepy medical/ER/morgue/48hours type shows on some, gotta be a womyn's, network.  "Why don't you go play with your dwarfs!" she says.  Woohoo!!!  It worked again.  =P  Someday I must use my powers for good and make the world a better place.... NAH!

This backfired badly for me. Now I'm addicted to So You Think You Can Dance and Dwarf Fortress.
