Trouble with memorial slabs... not sure if bug or not
« on: March 07, 2013, 01:07:39 pm »

I have a ghost problem at the moment and I'm trying to quickly solve the problem by memorializing the ghosts. So I built some slabs at the mason workshop as usual and then went to the craft workshop to engrave them. This time however instead of seeing a list of everything that has died I have a black text box appearing that I can type a message into. I have made engraved slabs for ghosts before in this world with no issues...

How do I get the list of dead back? If I type out a ghost's name in this text box will the ghost be put to rest? Is this a bug?

LNP v1.5
DF v.34.11
DFhack... I'm not sure but it came packaged with the LNP v1.5

No other mods installed.

Thanks for the help

Are you hitting Alt-S to select "engrave slab"? As I recall, Alt-S is also used to...do something or other. Which brings up that black box. Just use +/- to pick slab off the menu and you should be fine.

YES! thanks so much Veylon, once I used the +/- keys to actually select the engrave slab option it worked. Strange that alt-s doesnt work in that screen.

Now what is the deal with that black box that comes up? What is that for?

Is it possible you were hitting Ctrl-S by mistake? Coz that's the command to save a macro. The text box is to give the macro a name.
