Spltting Stacks?

I was wondering if there's a way to manually split stacks it stuff.

I ask primarily because of the barter system. Because I have to manually take what is owed to me, I need to take my coins from the chest, but there are 3 stacks of different coins, all with more coins in the stack than I am owed.

The money owed to you gets dropped on the table next to the chest.

If you want to split a stack of coins anyway, you can separate them one at a time by throwing them. This works with other things like meat/assorted organs, but not bones.
