Are plant weapons meant to be this powerful?

I made a reaction which lets you make prickle berry longswords out of nothing.
Also strawberry axes and sun berry spears.
I managed to slash off a goblin's head with the sword.
What the hell?

Its probably a bug related to unspecified material properties defaulting to maximum values.

Give Dwarves hammers made out of metal which are extremely hot, and make them wear fixed temperature gloves before they pick them up! Tried it, and the weapons (fixed temp 14000) had no extra effect on the wielder or the targets, not even when they lodged firmly in the wound.  I in fact dressed a dwarf in full magmite armor and it caused him no harm.
