Designated pond source
« on: June 04, 2011, 03:46:40 pm »

My last suggestion for a while: Similar to the way one stockpile can be set to take from another stockpile, it would be great if you could set ponds to take water from an existing player-defined water source zone. That would eliminate the water supply loop that arises when dwarves supply (with buckets) a reservoir by using a well that draws from the same reservoir.

(This is based on my thread from another forum where I asked if the water supply loop seemed like a bug, but the consensus seemed to be "no.")

Could also be useful if you just felt like draining a body of water for some reason.

This is already possible with a pond zone and a water source zone.

Actually, the pond takes randomly from any water source zone and (maybe) any well.
The suggestion, which you would have noticed if you'd read it, is to choose which water source.
