So for those who havn't listened to the latest Dwarf Fortress talks you will see that Light Green Nightcreatures will represent "natural" creatures who otherwise are also nightcreatures.

Toady however doesn't exactly have a name for them yet, and while due to the generation nature of the game their names are pointless... It wouldn't be so terrible to have a name for them.

My offerings
-The Weird
-Weirdling
-The Warped

Thematically they are natural creatures except different so to speak. Representing a sort of wickedness within nature itself.

So, like the night creatures we've got at the moment?

TBH, I think it'd be better if everything else was 'The Undead' or whatever would work for individuals, and the naturals ware the Night Creatures.

I think Neonivek is talking about the light green Night/Dark/Evil Beasts rather than the dark green Spouse Converters (about which I posted essentially the same question on the wiki), but either way, those would be my thoughts. They seem to capture the essence of those creatures quite well in my opinion. Maybe Beasts of Evil/Darkness/Night.

Assuming that these have the kind of feral, "bad" connotations that everyone seems to be expecting (and aren't, say, blessed by a nature goddess or just really large deer or whatever)... deviant? Aberrant? Atavism/Atavistic?

I kind of like aberrant. "Mutant" has a sort of X-men-or-green-toxic-slime assocation. Maybe that's just me.

Abnormal, strange, odd, wicked, evil, lots of adjectives come to mind, but without knowing if they will be consistently evil, I can't say.  Maybe some of these creatures will be indifferent to dwarves, and others will hunt them for food.
