why is there so much stuff in the Trade Zone
« on: May 30, 2011, 01:40:28 am »

after the traders leave...there's stuff everywhere!  I've got locations setup for weapons/armor/leather/etc to go to...but no one seems to pick up the items from the tradezone and haul them where they go.  It's just messy!

How do I get them to clean this up?

make sure you have:
- no burro{w} restrictions or active alerts
- idle dwarves with hauling activated in their {l}abor menu
- an unbroken path from point a to point b (remember to check doors)
- all hauling types active in the {o}rders screen

In addition to above, stockpile that accepts the objects and still have space for more. Or make stockpiles for them.

There should really be a sticky for "Why won't my dwarves bring [OBJECT] to [LOCATION]" with all of the above plus things like not being forbidden, etc.

Hell, there should just be a stickied FAQ.
