Dammit. There have been a few internet issues over here, but I'll try to finish my turn. Sorry in advance if I don't manage to make it!
I'll probably get on it tomorrow because it's kind of late over here.

Some time to change leaders! There are goblins hanging around outside by the bridge. The very sight of them is terrifying. I quickly call for a squad check to see if we are ready to fight the survivors.

I disband all the squads. All of them. In this state they are too dissimilarly equipped. I don't approve of that.
The fortress is lacking in metals. I check the stocks to see if we have any ores, but the foolish bookkeeper hasn't been keeping track of every single stone in the fort. Bah! I order him to do so.

Suddenly, an ambush appears! Most likely, we'll remain holed up in this dank pit. We don't even have access to magma!

Looks like the goblins got a useless engraver who was caught outside. Too bad.

The fort is okay as it is. I don't think I need to issue any more commands for a while.
Suddenly, an ettin appears. It is quickly shot down helpfully by the goblins by the bridge.

So here I was, overseeing the construction of the fortifications, when SirAaronIII comes up to me.
"So, Angle, how goes the construction?"
"Quite well, sir. We should have everything assembled in a month."
"So you've got things quite well in hand, eh?"
"Yes sir. When it comes to building things, I'm your dwarf."
"Yes, I think you'll do quite nicely."
"...Sir?"
"Lafiel has put me in charge of the fortress, but I don't think I'm up to the task. You, however, seem like just the dwarf for the job."
"You're putting me in charge of the fortress?"
"That's right."
"Like, the entire fortress?"
"Yes Angle, the entire fortress."
"...I'll get right to it, sir."

Well, it seems I've been put in charge of this fortress. Not what I was expecting, but I think it;s for the best. This place needs a good architect, someone to get things built.

1st Granite
I've looked over the fortress, and oh dear, it is in a sorry state. Everywhere, I see dwarves working outside, beneath the sky, or even worse, in rooms made of SOIL! This is intolerable. I will see to it that our fortress is made of STONE, as is proper.

6th Granite
Mosus Onulrul, an engraver and craftdwarf who was caught outside when we closed the gates, was killed by goblins today. What he was doing outside, I do not know.

8th Granite
Goblins! they have shot one of the workers on the twoers! Unfortunately for them, however, they have wandered in to the firing range of one of the balistas. the fools. I have given the order to fire. Let's see how they like it!

1st Slate
An ettin arrived today. had a bit of a tussle with the goblins. good riddance to both.

18th Slate
Urvad satbim had a strange mood and created an iron mail shirt.

23rd Slate
More goblins. and migrants, though they won't last long.


6th Felsite
Well, the fortifications are done. The bloody goblins slowed us up a bit, but we finished it all the same.


12th Felsite
Elves showed up today. unfortunately, we still haven't chased off those goblins, so they probably won't last long.

18th Galena

The goblins are gone! Time to spruce up our defenses so the next batch doesn't give us such trouble.

20th Galena
Gone, Oh no, don't be silly, they're just waiting in ambush. Bloody goblins.

In summary, I finished the fortifications, set up another Ballista, set up a shaft trying to find the caverns, which I failed to do, and started putting in some stone in the entrance. Gimme a sec, and I'll upload the save.

Yep, I'm up for a turn and a dwarf. Sound like this fort in kind of interesting. I like endless waves of goblins attacking again and again and again. It's filled with fun!
