trees block flood

um.. yeah.  just what it says.  more noticible with towercaps, especially in a one-wide tunnel.

imagine my supprise during the last seige.

im willing to call it a feature if you are, but i figured it was worth bringing up if it wasnt well known.  good reason to smooth a floor before muddying it, or to lay down chanel instead of using a more versitle flood.

IMO it's a bug that a tower cap would grow while water is continually flowing on the same tile. They should only appear when the flood stops, and the tile turns from "flooded" to "muddy"

it would have had to have sprouted from mud before being submerged.  Once the young tower cap has sprouted it can resist all sorts of stuff, being dug into a channel, built under a bridge or having a workshop put on top of it.  And, I guess, being submerged in water too.  Just imagine your farm room, when you flood it in the spring however briefly, the young tower caps aren't uprooted or otherwise harmed.  Guess it survives, even prospers, in the long term too.

I wanted young ones to grow up in water, but I don't want young ones to spring up.  I'll check and turn that off if it is happening, or add an option in the raw.

Does this mean that multiple floods in year (e.g. seasonal) will cause tower caps to grow faster than an individual yearly flood in the late winter?

Yes, I think they appear like shrubs between the 15th and 25th (?) of each season.

The individual trees won't grow faster, but you'll get a lot more of them. I like to clear out a huge amount of space on either side of the river for just this reason.

My original statement looks kind of confusing.  What I meant was I wanted young tower caps to be able to struggle against water and turn into adult tower caps, but I didn't want fresh young tower caps to appear while there is running water.  In either case, making sure your cave is covered with mud as often as possible will lead to more tower cap growth.
