Any faster ways than embark-abandon-embark-abandon?

This is still embark/abandon but I think I read that one spawns ever 16 world tiles, so maybe make a stupid large embark size and then use DFreveal to find the exact location, then abandon and re-embark over that spot with a normal embark size?

except for that to work you'd have to crash df (using task manager/ similar application) as simply abandoning would leave you with a 16*16 reclaim zone

Yeah.  Thus why I didn't make a trap.  In it's current state the fortress didn't need a trap, the whole damn fortress is a trap.

I don't think you have to crash it at all. Just note the seed. And use that to regen the world.

Or just copy the save, derp. Also, it's not "crashing", it's "terminating".

Or do just that then don't abandon but make a note of where it is and used the manager Ctrl-Alt-Delete. shut off dwarf fortress then just find that place again and boom.

To more quickly exit DF (in windows), put this into a .bat file and link it on your taskbar:

Code: [Select]
tskill "Dwarf Fortress"
Try this, it's a lot quicker. 1 click to kill DF (no yes/no prompt either, it's instant). (i'm using Tweak, so had to rename my exe. I therefore use tskill "dwarfort")

Ha, found the relevant Toady post:

It's the "another HFS" he mentions at the end.
