Waterwheels
« on: May 28, 2011, 09:17:47 am »

I've been working on a rather large power generator to run several nefarious contraptions, and I thought that it might be a good idea to be entirely certain before I flip the switch, as I don't have prior experience with waterwheels, and my current setup utilizes 100 of them.

Namely, does the water powering the wheels need to be flowing on the level below them, or on their level? I'm pretty sure it is the former, but pretty sure isn't good enough when there is only one unforbidden service door between my fort and the potential for a truly spectacular waterfall where the main stairs used to be.

It needs to be flowing on the level below the waterwheel, and there needs to be no floor between the wheel and the flow beneath.

Okay, thanks. Got it working, and I've got plenty of spare power without needing to set up a windfarm.
