Stairs problem
« on: May 19, 2011, 06:59:50 pm »

Hi to all. I want to complete "DELETE" the stairs that i construct with "d"esign button and i can't without destroying all my fort. I want to know how to destroy only the floor that they are occupying. I have search in the wiki and thath doesn't help me. Thanks.

If you want to have a floor there, use the Build menu to make one.  Press b-C-f and place a single-tile floor covering your stair.

If you want a solid blocking wall, then build a wall instead:  press b-C-w.

If you want completely open space, designate that spot to be channeled out, with d-h.

If you want completely open space, designate that spot to be channeled out, with d-h.

Just be careful with the channeling option, as it not only clears out the space on that z-level, but it also digs a hole/ramp into the z-level below.

I think you can also 'd'esignate and up/down stair to be dug out of an up stair.... maybe
