I use Mayday's too. My first encounter with DF was an article that used that one, and so did the tutorial I read, which kind of made it grow on me. Ironhand and especially Phoebus do great work too and I have tried both of theirs, but I keep going back to Mayday's with somesmall modifications.

Phoebus FTW.  Been using it for a while now and rather like it a lot... plus Phoebus has been on a crazy roll lately with the updates.  He's put out like 18 new versions with improvements just since .25 came out, it's ridiculous.  He even made a TilesetAssembler thing.

I started with Mayday, then later switched to Phoebe.
I haven't tried them all yet and I can't seem to decide which is my favourite.
