Can a stonecrafter create a rock short sword, like an obsidian sword you normally make?

Yeah, that's their duty. You can only use obsidian for it, though (unless you mod the raws), and it'll consume a log of wood, too.

I think you can use raw cotton candy for stone swords as well.

I think you can use raw cotton candy for stone swords as well.

That hasn't been possible since version 0.31.13 - obsidian is the only stone that's sharp enough to make swords.
