How to move caged animals
« on: May 16, 2011, 03:28:36 pm »

I have been trying to make an arena with caged monsters.
So i build cage "buildings" using cages with animals. That are connected to levers releasing them.
But after the release i want to add more animals, but if i assign em to the cages they get released and attack my dwarfs:/

The only way i know except that is to rebuild the cages and i have to attach everything to the levers.

Is there another way?

Not at present, unfortunately. Linking cages to levers is a slow business, but the only alternative is Mass Pitting to recycle your cages quickly.

or conversely you can just dump all the creatures, cage and all, into a magma pit, or a dwarven atom smasher. It'll piss off your craft dwarf, but at least it gives your carpenter something to do, as well as your wood cutter.
