Metamorphic magnetite?

I just located a large cluster of magnetite inside of a quartzite layer, which should be metamorphic, but there are no iron ores in metamorphic layers (According to the wiki).
For some reason this is bothering me. Is it just a bug or is there an explanation?

It's possible that you've got a slope with quartzite and some sedimentary stone. The magnetite cluster spawned in the sedimentary stone that was on the same z-level as the quartzite and continued on into the quartzite. This happens sometimes, though usually it's veins that protrude into the "wrong" stone as they're longer.
