Very strange cavern formation found...

I'm playing as a modified Bronze Colossus that can fly. I discovered a deep pit and decided to go down it. I discovered a volcano shaped hole with cracks in it. The cracks lead down to the lower caverns. It's made completely out of quartzite, aside from a few gems.

Wow! Very bizarre... Were there any other connecting caverns?
I'll have to copy your idea of a flying bronze colossus I think haha. Seems like a good way to explore!

Yeah, it connected to a cavern. I died there due to powerful Genesis Mod cavern monsters.

I've found a hole like that before. It's a rather jarring formation, isn't it.

It's a deep pit, they appear in fortress mode frequently.
