Unique artifact weapon types.
« on: May 11, 2011, 10:56:18 pm »

You know how FB's, titans, and clowns all can use unique creature types that do not normally appear in the game? What if artifact weapons had those as well? Such as an artifact Bec De Corbin. The weapon skill associated with it would just go to whatever weapon it is most similar to. Thoughts?

Can't this be done anyway with raws? When making artifacts it doesn't necessarily use items the civilization is allowed to make. I've had a dwarf make an artifact two-handed sword before.

He means that he wants the possibility of artifacts to be unique to that single fortress or civ. Every dwarf can make a shield, but it takes a divine inspiration to file the shield's rim into a blade for better shield strikes.

Also, this has already been suggested

This is already possible, simply mod in a bunch of weapons that no civ can make. Once in a blue moon a dwarf will smack one together.

Well, I think it's a bit different to make a randomized weapon generator than to make a hundred manual weapon permutations, which probably all take their own skills anyway... like in Rurouni Kenshin or Naruto, there's these seven-or-so legendary swords, that are all very arbitrary and not always sword-like.
