I must replicate that!
« on: May 11, 2011, 11:36:46 am »

I was once modding a creature (swamp frog of death) to be able to shoot dust all over the place...but there was a problem. It had gaseous blood or something and it killed its self in the process of self defense. Now, that seems like crap because it is...but the real fun is what happened after it died. It literally cooked and prepared its self. It would be awesome to have a creature that your dwarves take with you that prepares its self after death. Thoughts?

Cave-in dust area attacks kill the creature. It's the equivalent of a cave-in ontop of the creature, minus the insta-vaporization effect.

Moving along, the creature would fling and injure your dwarves, likely killing them too.

I think he's refering to the creature self-butchering.

How far did it fall before !!death!!?

That doesn't seem like it would be possible.  Preparing a creature to be edible isn't a matter of heat (dwarf butcher shops and kitchens use no heat at all); it's a matter of a reaction, which a creature could not do by itself.  The best you'll get is it being blown into various body-part chunks, which still couldn't be used until they were processed at a butcher's shop, and you cannot butcher tame animals that are killed by anything other than slaughtering.
