I understand the cyan !'s mean oppertunistic strike... But what about the cyan e's? Or t's? Or purple !'s? Cyan g's?

What do all of these mean?!

Edit: I mean on the attacks you get with Shift+a... Obviously.

Do you mean the game announcements hidden under the combat window?

I haven't seen any of those, but I think you're actually seeing part of an announcement (ex. "The severed part sails off in an arc!") underneath the window so it looks like it's part of it.

Actually it confused me a lot too before I realised what is it .

Yeah. me too. The letters didn't look random, but also didn't have any effect. I was so confused, until I canceled an attack.
