If an underground lake runs off the map in two places, is it considered source? I'm asking because I want to run waterwheels and pump stacks, and if I can avoid dropping the ocean 50 z levels to run my waterwheels that wound be nice

And why exactly would you want to avoid such a cute thing?

Actually, they can deconstruct artifacts, but the artifact won't be vaporized. It'll still be there for re-use after the beastie is gone.

This is incorrect. They cannot deconstruct artifacts. If you have an artifact furniture it is invincible. The demon hordes will pound on it for years but will be unable to destroy or deconstruct it.

Furniture is only deconstructed once destroyed.

I use this in order to keep the attention of the demon hordes while shooting at them. They just can't destroy the artifact furniture at all because its an artifact.

Ah, I see.

In that case, against a flying FB your best bet would be to... I don't know. Use a remote pump to pump water through a fortification? Something like this:

~ = water
%% = pump
F = fortification
C = Cistern

Code: [Select]
~%%FC
Opps, didn't see Hyndis' post.
Well, if you don't have an artifact grate, that might work.

Here's an example of this in practice:

You can see the bottom of the pump stack. The grate protecting the pump stack is not an artifact grate, however it is entirely immune to building destroyers. I've even had FB's sitting in the cistern the pump stack draws from and they cannot destroy it. They eventually get bored and go elsewhere.
