titans and bridges

A titan showed up, and I have a 10x3 bridge over a 14 level deep pit operated by a lever. It works, because I used it frequently to kill off surplus migrants. But when the titan was on it, the lever didnt work... It was stuck there because I had the main doors behind the bridge closed, so I tried several times to no avail. eventually I had it killed by military and tried again. Still didn't work. But as soon as the titans corpse was removed, it worked again!

I also wondered why the titan didn't just bash in the doors.

ehm. huh?

Try it on a herd of elephants, see if they're too heavy too?

My stray dogs often chase fire imps back into the magma pipe and then continue fighting while burning and drowning in the lava. Truly their loyalty knows no bounds, but perhaps it should.

Elephants arent 100 feet tall and made of metal, though.

As you journey to the center of the world, feel free to read the death announcements of those dwarves that suffer your neglect.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the cosmos. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips, I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my veins. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk and free throw.

They're ten feet tall and made of meat.  Your whole family is made of meat.

Ahem.

Maybe if you got more elephants, though?

I seem to recall someone saying they could not crush a megabeast with a drawbridge either. It's possible not a bug, but rather toady fixing the drawbridge smash-o-matic defense system.

I figured that opened bridges went downward, since they dont seem to launch anything.

Is it a retracting bridge or a drawbridge?  It seems odd to me that a retracting bridge wouldn't work.
