Gila Monster Fiend - trapavoid?
« on: May 09, 2011, 02:03:11 pm »

So on my current fort (which is coming along nicely - steel production will be underway once next year's caravan brings that load of steel crap I ordered for melting down) there's a goblin civillization (The Inferior Jackal - aw, cheer up, gobbos! I bet you're pretty cool!) with only one notable figure: a law-giver/Gila Monster Fiend Administrator. His/her name is Inire Lithemaede Vulo Imase. Now I haven't seen any goblins yet apart from three snatchers who came running once a few kids were born, but I suppose they'll start ambushing us soon enough. Now, some questions:

1. Once sieges start, should I expect this bugger to come by? I've only seen the general of a civilization come along before (and they always get killed by their own men...which is odd, but sort of funny. "Nobody'll see us here...quick, guys, let's kill the bastard and say the dwarves did it!").

2. He's a Gila Monster Fiend (a gila monster's a kind of lizard, if you were wondering), so, is he trapavoid?

3. Will any notable change occur in the goblin civilization if this guy dies?

4. Unrelated question - is it possible to kill so many gobbos in a civ that they don't show up anymore? ("Uh, guys, there's been like two hundred of us torn apart in Bouldermourn's Hall of Serrated Disc Traps - I think maybe it's time we just start messing with the elves instead of these dwarves...")

5. Have you ever looked at the back of a twenty dollar bill...on weeeeed?

1-Yes

2-Yes, that's a demon. All demons are trapavoid.

3-I think nope

4-Nope

You avoided the last question, Naryar! Also, darn. How should I go about killing him if he does show up and isn't murdered by his subordinates?

Oh, and another question. There's a beekeeper at the edge of the map, slowly starving, with the job "Install Colony In Hive" on. All my hives are full. How do I save her? She's got a baby with her, and I'd feel bad if they both died.

Edit: Nevermind on that last one. Just found a thread that mentioned how to make them stop doing that.

My beekepers do that occasionally for no reason. You can issue an alert, they will go to burrow, or kick her from her job and then disable beekeeping.

What I did was toggle the hive to be destroyed and then turned it off, which caused Urist McBeekeeper to amble over to the food stockpile to get her drink on.

She would go on her own, after a month or so. To sleep, eat and drink. Then she would repeat that strange procedure for another month, unless goblins ambushed her.
