Every human castle I go to, in every world i generate looks something like this. No guards, no king, only animals trapped inside the castle walls. They are hostile. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but it's hard to get a game started when i can't travel far due to the creatures of the night. I've tried reinstalling multiple times, as well as tweaking the sizes of my worlds. Do the soldiers hide inside the walls or something in .25?

Every single one in the world? In every world? This doesn't seem likely. Once I had a law-giver sitting alone in the hall, but that was it. Other than that, they've all been empty.

3. when there is a law-giver or the same sort of lord, the troops are up on the walls or on towers.

When you gen the world, shorten the history

Yea, what he said. I've found that I can't gen a history over 250 years or so without getting almost all abandoned forts.

Nope there's plenty of soldiers in my case, but the world is only 50 years old.

It's the food distribution, most of the abandoned fortresses are empty because their inhabitants starved to death.
