stock menu bugs?

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but when I look through the stock menu (under the 'z' menu), none of my animals/livestock show up under 'live animals' or 'tame animals'.  I currently have horses, dogs and cats, all labeled tame, and two of the cats have adopted dwarves, so logically shouldn't some of them at least show up under that portion of the menu?

In the stocks menu, it's referring (obscurely) to the little item sized creatures you can tame.
