Unintentional References are hilarious
« on: April 29, 2011, 09:05:39 pm »

So, I just genned a new world, embarked, striking the earth, etc, etc.

I'm digging straight down (Need delicious magma) and I get the message "You have struck Malachite!"

My first thought was 'Queen Beryl is gonna be pissed at me.'

Sailor Moon was one of my first anime, and the first season villains (and some more later on) were named after stones and gemstones. So this occasionally happens to me. And it's funny every time.

Anybody else experience other unintentional references in Dwarf Fortress?

i had a "if someone tries to kill you, kill em right back" moment, when my peasants were being slaughtered.

Not that they listened...

Not a reference to anything but I laughed at the wiki entry about jails:

"A high-quality chain will also let the prisoner admire it, giving him a boost to his happiness."
