A Cooking Conundrum
« on: May 08, 2011, 09:50:04 pm »

I'm having a rather unusual issue occur with my kitchens.  When I issue commands to my kitchens to make any type of meals, the workers take the requisite food to the kitchen, perform a cooking labor, gain experience, but no biscuits, stews, or roasts are produced.  The tasked but uncooked food is then considered untasked and taken back to my food stockpile.  This has happened every time I use the "Cook" orders in my current game.  It has happened with tallow, meat, eggs, and prepared organs.  My chefs have managed to level from lvl. 5 to lvl. 8 without actually producing any meals.  Does anyone know why this might be happening?

I AM playing a slightly modded game, so maybe that has something to do with it.  I highly doubt it, as the cooking system is completely hardwired, AFAIK.

I've been playing the game (and lurking the forums) for ~6 months now and this is the first issue I have come across that I can't seem to figure out.  The Wiki doesn't talk about this and my initial searches didn't turn up any relevant forum posts.

It is not hardcoded, item_food, make sure you still have it. By the way, there is an entire board devoted to modding that can help you out better then the gameplay questions.

AAARRRGGHH!!! It seems I somehow deleted the items_food file in my save folder...

Thanks!  I would probably never have figured this out on my own.
