DF Linux Problems

I've using Crunchbang and have gotten the game to run, but whenever I try and create a world, it never saves it, and the option to start playing never appears. The only way I can get it to work is if I log in as root and run it from there. I have added my account to the sudoers file, and have tried lauching the game using sudo. Being a somewhat new linux user, I'm not really sure what else I can do. Any help would be appreciated, as I would not like to stay logged in as root.

My mistake, I figured it out. A stupid mistake on my part. Mods, feel free to delete this thread.
