Topic: Is it just me, or does the dite finder think loamy sand is clay? (Read 706 times)

In two forts, both the site finder and the embark screen claimed the site I embarked on had clay, but all of the soil was loamy sand.
Has this happened to other people?

Try digging in other parts of the embark.

Sometimes it's underground. As in, the ground directly under the topsoil.

I've had white sand where there's silt.

Yeah, seems to have been the issue...

Now how do you get them to collect clay, if you were planning to build the kiln from clay they collected, stupid?

Zone an area (i), and set its setting to "Clay"

And then build a kiln with the clay you can't collect because you don't have a kiln to generate the collect clay job.
