Looking for a good challenge.
« on: April 26, 2011, 04:59:33 pm »

I'm generating a world currently, (2.5 hours to generate so far) and would like to see what everyone thinks I should do as a nice challenge. Like a Megaproject, or something. I haven't played DF since 31.18, though, so I'm fairly rusty. Any ideas?

embark on a waterfall
Create a gigantic dam and inside it you must make your dwarves live on it.
Also you must make power through it, so you can pump magma.

BONUS if you make the dam with green glass blocks
DWARFBONUS if you make the dam with casted obsidian, then use green glass as windows

Embark on an evil area. Make your fort in the third cavern layer.

BONUS: make that dam megaproject mentioned above in said cavern.

Embark in a terrifying biome. Dwarves must live and work above ground. Constructions can only be made using clear glass. Furniture other than beds must be made from crystal glass. Spend points only on a single pick.

Gen a cavernless world and then embark on an evil glacier or tundra.

Find an embark that's flat on the edges with a tall mountain in the middle (some volcanoes do this).  Level the mountain.  Then re-build it, in detail, out of cast obsidian.
