Are attributes relative?
« on: April 26, 2011, 05:12:24 am »

Sorry for my bad English.
Does the weight of a creature affect its strength? I mean if a bronze collosus is unfathomably weak and a dwarf is unbelievably strong, can the dwarf take down the collosus?

I think it's depending on the creature. A mighty fluffy wambler won't be as strong as a weak dragon etc. However, I'm not sure about this specific example.

I can confirm this. I was working in a mod, and added a rare caste to one of the new civilized races I had added in, and made them bigger, tougher and stronger (Much stronger) than the 'normal' castes. They were still listed as having 'average' strength in the testing arena, but they could still beat the snot out of the 'normals' in unarmed, unskilled, unarmoured combat. So yeah, it's all relative.

So it isn't possible yet to sent things flying like Morul Cattenmat?

It is possible, but not with dwarves, I think. Recently I modded a giant civilization (I know, I won't shut up about it) and even the weakest of them are more than capable of throwing a normal-sized humanoid across the room and make him explode against a wall/tree/whatever. In fact, when I'm facing too many enemies at once with my giants (lately I've been creating a posse of like four of them and utterly destroying a human town I was in war with), throwing a few of them is my method of choice.
