HOW DO I SHOOT!

It says I have nothing to fire. I took out the bullets, and now I can't put them back in my quiver, and I STILL can't fire the bullets. Help?

You need to have a gun in your hand and a quiver on your body (worn), and bullets in the quiver.

Make sure you have a free hand to shoot.

So, I need to have one hand with a gun and one hand free with nothing in it?

Yes, but sometimes you can shoot with a shield... I didn't try to learn what is the correct requirement to shoot, but when in doubt, just 'p'ut all your items you had in hands in your backpack and 'r'emove your ranged weapon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't "shooting" take up more move time than throwing arrows, yet they both do the same thing?

I know they both level up when you throw things though.

It all depends on the weapon. Throwing is a bit overpovered now, and it's an undeveloped mechanic anyway, so I try not to depend on it too much.
